Lady Gaga to Headline Historic Free Concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio

Music lovers, get ready for an unforgettable night as Lady Gaga gears up to perform a monumental free concert at the iconic Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Titled “Mayhem On The Beach,” this historic event is scheduled for May 3, 2025, marking Gaga’s grand return to Brazil after more than a decade. With an expected audience of over a million people, this will be one of the biggest live performances of the year.

A Special Tribute to Brazilian Fans

Gaga took to Instagram to share her excitement about the show, expressing deep gratitude for her Brazilian fans.

“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio—for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters. I’ve been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized,” Gaga wrote.

“Your understanding that I needed that time to heal meant the world to me. I am now coming back, and I feel better than ever. I’m working so hard to make sure this show is one you will never forget. Get ready for MAYHEM on the beach.”

Part of a Major Entertainment Initiative

The performance is also the launch event for “Todo Mundo no Rio”, a new initiative created by Bonus Track and presented by Corona to highlight the cultural and entertainment scene in Rio de Janeiro. Gaga’s concert follows in the footsteps of legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones (2006) and Rod Stewart (1994), who famously set a world record with 4.2 million attendees at the same venue.

Last year, Madonna held a free show at Copacabana Beach, drawing a crowd of 1.6 million people in what became the largest concert of her career. With Gaga’s immense global popularity, expectations are high that this event could break new records.

Mayhem: A New Album Era Begins

The concert also serves as a promotional event for Gaga’s highly anticipated seventh studio album, ‘Mayhem’, set to release on March 7, 2025. The album follows ‘Chromatica’ (2020) and the ‘Harlequin’ companion record (2024).

Ahead of its release, Gaga has already dropped three singles:

  • ‘Die With A Smile’ (feat. Bruno Mars)
  • ‘Disease’
  • ‘Abracadabra’

The full tracklist includes a collaboration with DJ and producer Gesaffelstein, further amplifying anticipation for the album.

Upcoming Appearances and Projects

In addition to her Rio concert, Gaga is set to appear on Saturday Night Live (SNL) the day after ‘Mayhem’ drops, where she will both host and perform as a musical guest.

Excitingly for fans, she also recently confirmed that the long-awaited sequel to her 2009 hit song ‘Telephone’ is finally happening, though details remain under wraps.

With an unforgettable night of music, a global broadcast, and a celebration of Rio’s rich entertainment culture, Lady Gaga’s return to Brazil promises to be one of the most significant music events of the decade.
