After years of speculation, indie rock band Rilo Kiley has officially announced their highly anticipated 2025 North American reunion tour. Earlier this year, rumors began circulating after a billboard in Echo Park, Los Angeles, teased the band’s return for the Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena, California, set to take place this May. Now, the band has confirmed a full-fledged tour titled “Sometimes When You’re On, You’re Really F**ing On Tour.”* The tour will also include a special performance alongside Julien Baker & TORRES at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

A Long-Awaited Return
This tour marks Rilo Kiley’s first major run of shows in over a decade. The band, led by vocalist Jenny Lewis and guitarist Blake Sennett, first gained widespread recognition in the early 2000s with their breakout albums The Execution of All Things (2002) and More Adventurous (2004). Their last full studio album, Under the Blacklight, was released in 2007.
Reflecting on their return, Jenny Lewis described the upcoming tour as a nostalgic and exhilarating journey. “It’s going to be wonderful for us, like going back to the purest version of yourself, that early 20s place where everything is possible,” she said in a statement via Stereogum. “You’re in a van, Jason’s got the map, Pierre is behind the wheel, and I’m on the acoustic guitar in the backseat working on a song with Blake. It never felt as good as that.”
Reissues and New Projects
In addition to the tour, Rilo Kiley has announced a special reissue of their 2002 album, The Execution of All Things, in multiple formats. The album, widely considered a defining moment in the band’s career, will be available for pre-order soon.
Despite their limited live appearances since 2011, the band has remained active in the industry. In 2020, they reissued their rare self-titled debut album (originally released in 1999) on digital streaming platforms for the first time. Additionally, in a 2019 interview with NME, Jenny Lewis expressed openness to a full-band reunion, stating, “My mantra is ‘Yes’—I’m open to anything these days.”
With the tour announcement now official, fans of Rilo Kiley can look forward to experiencing their favorite songs live once again. Stay tuned for further updates on additional tour dates and exclusive merchandise releases.
