Music lovers at theautonomics.com, get ready! British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons have just announced a last-minute free concert in London, happening tonight (March 4). This surprise gig will take place at Flat Iron Square, an intimate 420-capacity venue on Southwark Street, just before the band embarks on their highly anticipated 2025 intimate club tour.
The announcement came directly from frontman Marcus Mumford, who took to the band’s Instagram Stories earlier today with a simple yet exciting message. In the clip, the singer-songwriter, seen running through a field, casually shared, “London – Flat Iron Square at 7PM. Bye!” The venue itself also confirmed the news on their official Instagram account, stating, “We love a secret gig… @mumfordandsons. SEE YOU TONIGHT 7PM 👀.”

A Special Show Before a Highly Anticipated Album Release
This impromptu show serves as an exciting preview of what’s to come. Mumford & Sons are gearing up to release their fifth studio album, ‘RUSHMERE’, on March 28 via Island/Glassnote. The album, their first release since 2018’s ‘Delta’, has already been teased with the title track and lead single ‘Malibu’.
Notably, ‘RUSHMERE’ marks the band’s first LP as a trio, following the departure of banjoist Winston Marshall in 2021. The album was co-produced by Dave Cobb, a long-time collaborator known for working with industry greats like Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, and Slash.
